Thai Prone and Seated
The Thai Prone and Seated workshop employs compressions, point work and stretching to address the legs, hips, back, shoulders, head and neck. We learn methods to using the practitioner’s feet, palms, forearms, fists, elbows and knees, with minimal use of those hard-working thumbs. You will learn to work the glutes with your knees, how to stretch the rib cage with the client in a seated position on the floor, how to “iron” the neck, how to stretch the hip flexors with the “wheelbarrow” and much more. This class has the deeply relaxing scalp treatment included. You will leave refreshed, wide awake and gloriously relaxed.
Somewhat physically demanding, Thai massage requires you to be comfortable sitting on your feet with your legs folded under you. Painful joints of any kind are obstacles to doing this work.
